The GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Pre-K Relief Staff member provides support in the classroom when regular staff are absent or when additional help is needed. This individual ensures that a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment is maintained for all children. Relief staff must be flexible, dependable, and responsive to the needs of the classroom and school community.
Provide support in the classroom during staff absences, assisting with supervision and care of children
Follow the daily schedule set by the Lead Teacher
Assist with meal/snack time, toileting, rest time, and outdoor play
Maintain a clean and safe learning environment
Help implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with GSRP standards
Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and team members
Follow all licensing rules, program policies, and health/safety procedures
Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students
Maintain confidentiality and respect for all students and families
Attend required trainings and staff meetings, as applicable
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with young children preferred
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with classroom staff
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must pass required background checks and TB test
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Able to sit, stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the day
Ability to respond quickly to children’s needs and emergencies " />
